Ham and Jam (IRE)

Ham and Jam

Colt, 2 yrs
Sire: Champs Elysees (GB)
Dam: Artistica (IRE)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett

The sire was one of the three full brothers (together with Dansili and Cacique to race and stand for Juddmonte. He was very durable and won a Group One on his final outing as a six years old. He never enjoyed the best of patronage at stud and was eventually sold to the National Hunt ranks. In spite of this he has compiled an excellent record of success, with winners of the One Thousand Guineas, Ascot Gold Cup and many other races. His progeny are invariably progressive with age and he is popular in Australia. The dam is a half sister to Montmartre, who won the Grand Prix de Paris by seven lengths. The cross of Danehill (grandsire) on dam's grandsire (Rainbow Quest) was phenomenally successful, with Derby winner North Light and Frankel's dam among several black type products. He is a May foal and will be a horse for the Autumn.
